I came back to music after a hiatus during COVID. Like many schools, Eastlake's marching band was hit hard by the pandemic and we decided to not have a marching battery still. This left us with all 19 percussionists being in a back-field pit; it was a lot to juggle, but very fun to rewrite the music for.

In my second year working here, I took the wind parts written by our director and arranged the music for the front ensemble. With full attendance this year we had 2 marimbas, 3 vibraphones, xylo/glock, synth, and 2 rack percussion.

The final showcase performance of my first year of teaching. With these 4 students the focus was primarily on technique, timing, and blending with the entire ensemble.

POW was such a fun experience; 19 year old me wanted to march until my age-out but life doesn't always agree with us. Grateful to have met the bestie Mark through this (vibe twins?) and to be in a pit with so many other friends from previous groups.

Senior year field show - second year on sousaphone. We made it to 4A Championships this year, and of course I got sick with mononucleosis and it was the only competition I missed.

Junior year parade - I really wanted to play Bari sax, so I auditioned and was center guide for parade (still had to play sousaphone for the field shows)

Junior year - I had just switched from trombone over to tuba.
