Starting with recorder in the 4th grade, music became my primary focus. Meandering through oboe, bassoon, trombone, mallet percussion, tuba, bari sax, and bass guitar, I spent much more time at rehearsal than I did working on schoolwork. I marched in independent groups through DCI and WGI, started teaching with high school marching band, and had just been accepted for a degree in bassoon performance at SDSU when COVID hit. A quarter-life crisis led to me shifting my focus to architecture for a bit, and completely halted my journey with music for a few years. I spent time developing as a person, learning about art and how history has been encapusalted and reflected upon in it - and I'm glad that I did. But a career in architecture is not for me, so I came back to music and am focusing on it full time, working with more groups than before and performing once again on bassoon and trombone.
I now spend a lot of my time at the computer arranging music, working with students, rehearsing with college groups, or playing with my frug puppy Kali.
